Social Security Administration  1935- Current day

The SSA was formed to fund people that were retired, unemployed, or disabled. Roosevelt wanted to ensure that the elderly had some source of income and protection.

The SSA is a conservative program since it got its money from taxes. The workers would get money taken out from their funds and it would be put in a trust fund for their retirement making it a long-term recovery.

Each social class were taxed the same rate, causing the poor to lose more money. The labor worker, such as African Americans, criticizedbut the program, but Roosevelt only did this to get te legislstion to agree to this program, which caused it to be very successful since it's still active today.
